This California Notice at Collection applies only to individuals who are residents of the State of California ("Consumers") and describes how KCAL Insurance Agency ("KCAL," "we," "us," or "our") collects and uses Personal Information that is subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA"), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CPRA"). This Notice does not apply to information that is exempt from the CCPA/CPRA or to information collected in contexts that are outside the scope of those laws.

(3) Protected Classification Characteristics

Protected classification characteristics under California or federal law, such as age, marital status, and gender.

(4) Commercial Information

Commercial information, including records of personal property, products or services purchased, obtained, or considered, or other purchasing or consuming histories or tendencies.

(5) Internet or Other Electronic Network Activity Information

Internet or other electronic network activity information, including browsing history, search history, and interactions with websites, applications, or advertisements.

(6) Geolocation Data

Geolocation data, including physical location or movements.

(7) Sensory Information

Sensory information, including audio, electronic, visual, or similar information (e.g., call recordings where permitted by law).

(8) Professional or Employment-Related Information

Professional or employment-related information, including current or past employment.

(9) Education Information

Education information, including education level or related records, to the extent not otherwise exempt.

(10) Inferences

Inferences drawn from other Personal Information to create a profile reflecting preferences, characteristics, psychological trends, predispositions, behavior, attitudes, intelligence, abilities, or aptitudes.

Sensitive Personal Information

(1) Sensitive Identifiers

Sensitive identifiers, such as Social Security number, driver's license number, state ID number, or passport number.

(2) Sensitive Account Information

Sensitive account information, including account log-in, financial account, debit card, or credit card number combined with security codes or passwords.

(3) Sensitive Geolocation Information

Sensitive geolocation information, meaning precise geolocation within an area equal to or less than a circle with a radius of 1,850 feet.

(4) Sensitive Demographics

Sensitive demographics, including racial or ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, or union membership.

(5) Sensitive Communications

Sensitive communications, including contents of mail, email, and text messages unless KCAL is the intended recipient.

(6) Sensitive Genetic Information

Sensitive genetics information, including genetic data.

(7) Sensitive Health Information

Sensitive health information, including health-related data not otherwise exempt under laws such as HIPAA.

(8) Sensitive Sexual Information

Sensitive sexual information, including information concerning sex life or sexual orientation.

2. Purposes for Collecting Personal Information

To the extent permitted by applicable law, KCAL may collect and use the categories of Personal Information described above (including Sensitive Personal Information) for one or more of the following business purposes:

1. Analytics, research and development, pricing, and improving or upgrading products, services, and operations.
2. Auditing and quality control, including auditing related to ad impressions and verifying positioning and quality.
3. Claims handling, administration, and litigation, including investigation, adjustment, defense, and resolution of claims.
4. Compliance purposes, including disclosures required by law, responding to investigations, and providing information to professional advisors.
5. Detecting, preventing, and responding to security incidents; protecting against malicious, fraudulent, or illegal activity; and protecting physical safety.

3. Retention of Personal Information

The length of time KCAL retains Personal Information varies depending on the category of information, the nature of the relationship, the purposes for collection, and legal requirements. At a minimum, information is retained for the period required by applicable statutes of limitations and other legal obligations.

4. Selling or Sharing Personal Information

KCAL may "sell" or "share" certain categories of Personal Information, including Identifiers, Internet activity information, professional information, and commercial information, for purposes such as cross-context behavioral advertising.

Cross-context behavioral advertising: advertising targeted using personal information obtained from a consumer's activity across different businesses and distinctly-branded websites, applications, or services, rather than only from the platform the consumer intentionally visits.

Consumers may opt out using the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" mechanism on our website. KCAL also honors Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as required by law.

5. Third-Party Collection

KCAL may allow certain third parties to collect Personal Information through cookies, pixels, web beacons, and similar technologies for analytics and advertising purposes, subject to your rights under applicable law.
